Work vs Baby | Round 1 | Priorities

Work vs Baby | Round 1 | Priorities

How to Work with a Baby?

I am sorry to disappoint you, but there is no one way that works for everyone. I will never believe those articles about super humans who manage to be perfect mums, wives and work at the same time. I am afraid that this kind of articles make many mums frustrated and disappointed when they can’t meet their expectations.

Is it possible to work while taking care of a baby? I think so. Read this article to see few tips how it works for me: 5 Tips for Working from Home with a Squeaky Baby. But I will never say that it is easy and that you can do a full-time job. At least for me, that is not possible if I want to give time to my little one.

Priorities

Fight: My little evil makes me feel guilty and cries a lot if I spend too much time on the PC or doing my work in general.

Result: 1:0 for baby

Before being a mum, I could spend 14 hours on the computer straight, without standing up for any other reason than the bathroom or coffee and snacks refill.

These can’t be healthy, right?

I let baby win and I changed my priorities. Because a happy healthy mama and happy little evil is a basic rule to my inspiration and great work results.

My priorities before baby:

  1. Husband
  2. Dog
  3. Work
  4. Exercise
  5. Shower
  6. Food
  7. Sleep
  8. Family
  9. Friends
  10. House

My priorities after baby:

  1. Baby poo sneaking out of the diaper
  2. Baby needs boob, boob needs baby (mamas will understand)
  3. Dance with baby to the most stupid songs I ever heard
  4. Baby doctor appointments
  5. Reading baby articles that freak me out for no reason
  6. Husband & dog (need to share the time)
  7. Food
  8. Work
  9. Sleep
  10. All the rest if there is time
